Rain Plan

We have all heard the old saying, “It is good luck if it rains on your wedding day”, but have you heard why? Because a wet knot is harder to untie. How cute?!

We know that might not be the first thing that pops into your head if it is actually raining on your wedding day. It’ll probably be something like worrying about your hair, makeup, flowers, guests, ceremony, and the whole 9 yards.

First, take a deep breath. Usually, rainstorms in Colorado last around 15 minutes and then blow over. There is still a chance for a sunshiny ceremony, and now everything is cooled off.

Second, if you’ve hired rock-star coordinators like us, you don’t have to worry about anything else because we have it all covered. We’ve seen rain, snow, and hail on wedding days, and we know how to make it the most special day of your life. Some things we will have already gone through with you would be: how worried you are about rain, if you're comfortable going out in it, where your ceremony, cocktail, and reception dinner will be, and what the rain plans are.

Some things to keep in mind if it looks like it is going to rain on your wedding day:

  1. The pictures still look fabulous- The rain creates a dramatic and artistic touch that just makes the pictures more beautiful. They feel more raw and intimate. So grab your photographer and go dance in the rain!

  2. Choosing happiness- Newsflash, emotional, mental, and physical rainstorms will come in your marriage. We know this is your wedding day and you have been planning and dreaming of it for so long, but there are just some things we can’t control in life. If you can choose happiness even when life doesn’t go as planned, we think that is a beautiful start to your marriage.

  3. Cozy, intimate atmosphere- It might not be the vibes you had originally envisioned for your wedding, but the rain tapping on the windows while everyone is coming together to celebrate you and your love is still very romantic.

  4. We’ve got you covered- Don’t worry, we’ve got 100 white wedding umbrellas available for you to rent. These look really pretty in pictures and keep your guests dry during the ceremony. Learn more on our rentals blog.
