Daytime Wedding With No Pressure

Logan and Shyla specifically wanted their wedding to be centered around the ceremony, dancing and being together and so they curated a daytime event focused on just that! They had a mid-day ceremony followed by the biggest DIY appetizer style charcuterie spread. The afternoon was filled with dancing, the traditional garter and bouquet toss, and the best pie potluck I've ever seen. Shyla even wanted to be considerate of her couples with little kiddos so she specifically made sure her exit was before dark and early enough to get the littles home for dinner and bedtime. I loved that there was no pressure to fit their day into the traditional ceremony, dinner, dance model.

Private Property For A Reason

I've long said that saving money shouldn't be the main reason for hosting a private property wedding. In fact, they often end up costing more money after you fill in the details like bathrooms, tables, chairs, electricity and drinking water! That being said, the biggest reason to host a private property event is when the space is important to you as a couple, your families and your relationship. The couple grew up attending and hosting events at Whispering Pines Bible Camp so the space was not only important to them, but also to their families. It was really special watching them celebrate more big moments in a mountain top hamlet that already held so many memories and good stories.

Classic Getaway Car Exit

Exits are so fun! We have so many weekend-long weddings with lodging on site that we're seeing a real abandonment of the traditional sparkler then getaway car exit. Logan and Shyla's friends decorated their personal car and filled it with gifts and leftover pie. All of the friends and family not only got to make an epic part tunnel for the exit, they also got to wave as the couple drove away. It makes for a great photo but even better feels!
