These are a few of my favorite things:

When Plans Shift, Magic Happens

Lexi and Matthew’s wedding at The Black Diamond Lodge was one of those days that proved how beautiful things can be when you roll with it. The skies opened up just before the ceremony, turning the mountains misty and soft. Instead of stressing, they moved everything inside to the lodge’s cozy lobby. Candles glowed, the windows steamed, and the whole space felt calm and romantic. It ended up being even better than anyone imagined.

Dancing Through It All

From the start, Lexi and Matthew made it clear that dancing was a big deal. They shared two first dances, both full of personality and joy. One was more of a classic first dance filled with romance and choreography, and the second came in the middle of dancing after Lexi changed dresses. It was a fast, fun country swing followed by all of their friends joining in. Once the music started, no one ever really stopped. The dance floor stayed packed all night. It was one of those weddings where you could feel how much everyone genuinely wanted to celebrate.

Sweet from Start to Finish

Dessert showed up twice, which says a lot about their priorities. Guests got a taste during cocktail hour with a chocolate fountain surrounded by strawberries, Rice Krispies, marshmallows, and graham crackers. And again at the end of the night with a beautiful two-tiered cake made by Deco Desserts and a fun groom’s cake that looked like a pot of Louisiana crawfish boil, echoing Matthew’s home state. It kept the evening feeling fun and relaxed, the way you’d hope a mountain wedding would be.

Made for Everyone

One of the best parts of the day was how much care they put into making it enjoyable for everyone, especially the kids. They had activities, gifts, spots in the ceremony, mocktails at the bar, a pizza party downstairs during dinner, and plenty of time on the dance floor. It gave the whole day a family feel that made it even more special.
