Built in 1902 by local businessman Louis Wyman, the first floor housed a mercantile, a gas station, and even the town trolley. Upstairs, neighbors gathered for dances, banquets, meetings, and celebrations almost every night. Over the decades, the building also became home to mining companies, professional offices, and countless businesses that helped shape Silverton's history.
Today, the building has been carefully restored into a mid-century mod boutique hotel that feels perfectly at home in the San Juan Mountains. Before booking, there are a few things worth knowing. This is a historic building, so there isn't an elevator, and most guest rooms are located on the second floor. There also isn't air conditioning, which is common in Silverton, where summer evenings regularly cool into the 40’s and 50’s. Dogs are welcome in the lobby and courtyard, but not inside guest rooms, and the property is entirely smoke-free. Couples also have flexibility when it comes to lodging, they can either host their guests by covering the room costs themselves or invite guests to reserve and pay for their own accommodations.
