Alyssa + Tommy

VIBES: Hype, Biking, energy, fun
These are a few of my favorite things:
Local to the Core
Alyssa and Tommy’s wedding felt like Durango in party form. From the Lion’s Den ceremony site overlooking the townto their reception at the Powerhouse Science Center, the whole day was woven into places that matter here. It was both pretty AND personal.
Their riverside portraits were honestly some of the most romantic we’ve seen. Soft light. River moving behind them. Just the two of them tucked into that quiet pocket before the party really started. And then… the party started.
The Bike Parade of All Bike Parades
Instead of shuttles or a traditional transition, Alyssa and Tommy led their guests in a full-on bike parade from the Lion’s Den down to the Powerhouse. Led by one of their closest friends, the parade rolled through town with decorated bikes, costumes, music, and spontaneous dance breaks along the way. It felt like a moving celebration. So. Much. Fun. Strangers were smiling. Guests were cheering. It was playful and a little chaotic in the best way. So perfectly them. You could feel how tight this group is… these were their people! py
The Powerhouse Energy
The Powerhouse Science Center is such a cool, unique venue. Industrial, interactive, a little unexpected. It doesn’t try to be a ballroom and that’s exactly why we love it. It has personality that invites movement and fun. Alyssa and Tommy leaned all the way in. Later in the evening, they surprised everyone with a marching band that burst into the reception and completely shifted the energy. The dance floor went from “this is fun” to “we are never going home” in about thirty seconds. Guests were all in. Sweaty. Laughing. Singing. Dancing late into the night.
A Celebration Built on Friendship
What stood out most was how grounded this day felt in friendship. Local vendors. Local spots. A core group that has clearly done life together for years. Nothing felt performative. It felt real. Intentional. Joyful. Alyssa and Tommy didn’t just throw a wedding. They created an experience that reflected their community, their city, and their story. And watching a dance floor stay packed because everyone genuinely wants to be there? That’s always one of our favorite things.
