Kailey + Nick @ The Black Diamond Lodge

WHAT: The 21st Night of September That We Remember

WHEN: September 21, 2024

WHERE: The Black Diamond Lodge

COORDINATORS: Rose, Molly, Josh

VIBES: Rainy day mountain views, people-focused, party

These are a few of my favorite things:

PRIVATE CAKE CUTTING
Rather than make their cake cutting a big event, Kailey and Nick chose to privately cut their cake with just their parents and grandparents. They snuck away mid dance party to share a quick moment with their closest loved ones. While everyone else was tearing up the dance floor downstairs, Kailey and Nick were cutting into the cutest heart-shaped cake in the quiet upstairs and slowing down to enjoy conversation with some of the people who mattered most.

Here’s what the couple had to say:

We cannot say enough amazing things about Rose and her entire team at Perfect Day Company/ The Black Diamond Lodge! They were truly phenomenal from start to finish. When it started hailing just before our ceremony, Rose kept everyone calm and reassured us that everything would be okay—and she was right, because just in time, blue skies appeared! Her attention to detail and willingness to take care of the little things meant that my husband and I could really focus on being present and enjoying our special day.

A special shoutout to Josh, who was a superstar throughout the whole planning process. When we were just stopping by the venue last November, he gave us an impromptu tour, and from that moment, we knew we were in great hands. Over the wedding weekend, he went above and beyond—helping us build a fire and even bringing us appetizers to enjoy while we were taking photos. By the end of the weekend, the whole team felt more like long-time friends than planners.

We CANNOT recommend this team enough!

CANADIAN TUXEDO

We have seen a lot of ceremony rehearsal attires; everything from casual running shorts, to ultra formal. But this was the first (but hopefully not last) time we have seen a Canadian tuxedo dress code. We are talking denim on denim on denim! Every single rehearsal guest followed through on this attire and the result was a sea of denim, with the bride fully decked out in white denim. We love how Kailey + Nick added fun touches of personality like this to their whole weekend.

DANCE PARTY TO END ALL DANCE PARTIES

I have never seen a dance party so crowded and full of life! Rob Webster brought the tunes, Kailey and Nick brought the props (glow sticks, heart sunglasses, and confetti!), and their guests brought the moves. Mr. Brightside by The Killers opened the dance floor that night and Take Me Home Country Roads by John Denver closed it down, truly creating the dance party of your dreams.
